CPR Saves Lives!

  • Immediately providing effective CPR can double a victim’s chance of survival.
  • About 75 to 80 percent of all out of hospital cardiac arrests happen at home, so being trained to perform CPR can mean the difference between life and death for a loved one.
  • CPR and defibrillation within the first 3-5 minutes after collapse, combined with early arrival of EMS can result in survival rates as high as 50% for victims of ventricular fibrillation (the most common type of heart attack).
  • CPR is not just for heart attacks! Approximately 7 million adults and children suffer disabling injuries in their own homes and backyards each year, resulting from accidents which may require CPR.
